In this article we will discuss about the boiler types in thermal power plant . we will discuss in detail that how many boiler types and working.
Boiler types in thermal power plant
Boiler types and working
A boiler is a closed vessel in which water under pressure is
converted into steam. It is one of the measure components of a thermal power
plant the boiler is always designed to absorb maximum amount of heat released
in the process of combustion. This heat transferred to the boiler by all the three
method of heat transfer. the method is shown below.
1. Conduction
2. Convection
3. Radiation
Boiler types in thermal power plant
There are two boiler types in thermal power plant. Which is
given below .
1. Fire tube boiler
2. Water tube boiler
1. Fire tube boiler
This boiler is so named because the process of combustion
passes through the tubes which surround by water depending on weather the tubes
are critical and horizontal tube boilers. A fire tube boiler vertical fire tube
boiler occupies little flow space. They are
economical only for low pressure and there for available in small sizes having
steam capacity of about 1500 kg/hrs.
2. Water tube boiler
In this boiler water flows inside the tube and hot gases
flow outside the tubes. Water tube boilers
are classified as shown below.
1. Horizontal boiler
2. Vertical boiler
3. Inclined tube boiler
Whether the tube are vertical or horizontal or inclined. The circulation of water in the boiler may be
natural or forced through the action of pumps.
The factors which affected the choice of a boiler are initial cost, availability,
maintenance cost, labor cost, space and fuel cost.
Hence it is the boiler types in thermal power plant. if you will find any incorrect above please comment below.
